Cross county rivals BCHS and RHHS squared off in a track meet on Wednesday which also included teams from Claxton and Effingham. The BCHS girls finished in second to Claxton, while the boys came in first place. Richmond Hill boys and girls teams both came in third place

Event winners for BCHS included: Paige Starling in the 3200 Meter Run, William West in the 3200 and 1600 Meter Runs, DJ McElroy in the 110 Meter Hurdles, Long Jump and Triple Jump, and Taylor Lucas in the Shot Put. The Boys 400 Meter Relay Team of Alkeem Collins, Ivey Mutcherson, DJ McElroy, Willie Deloach and the Boys 1600 Meter Relay Team of Alkeem Collins, Winston Johnson, DJ McElroy and Willie Deloach took first place. Strong placings were also input by BCHS players Jarell Paulk, Mike Mitchell, Joseph Jenkins, Ashlei Jones and Rebecca Horton.

Event winners for RHHS included Janell McKinney and Sean Szad. Strong placings were also input by RHHS players Kamedra Scott, Heather Vaccaro, Adam Uhlig, Donald Roberts, Kellie Martinez, Jillian Yontz and Mark Pace.

All the teams are training for the region tournament which get underway later this month.
