Redskins fall to Country Day

The Redskin baseball team lost 8-3 to Savannah Country Day on Tuesday.

"Decker (SCD pitcher) did a good job of keeping us off balance all day," said head coach Al Butler. "He also hit a 3 run home run and a two RBI double, so the baseball gods were definitely smiling on him this day. Ricky (Myrick) pitched well enough on the mound to win but we did not back him up defensively. We had six errors behind him."

"Not enough hits and too many errors kept us out of this one," Butler added. "Things are shaping up for a good playoff race down the stretch between a few of us left in the bottom of the region. I encourage everyone with a Redskin heart to please come out and support our boys as they strive to return to the state playoffs."

Leading hitters included Aaron Dudley (1-3, BB, 2R), Wesley Wilkes (1-4, HR, RBI, R), Trey Boatright (1-3) and Ricky Myrick (1-4).

The Redskins had a region game against Portal last night, but results were not available.

Next up is a non-region home game versus Windsor Forest on Monday and region play against Jenkins on Friday.

Note: The day of the Jenkins game, Jack Kingston is slated to stop by before school begins to donate a United States flag to the BCHS baseball team.
