As the spring edition of Richmond Hill's NFL Flag League came to a close, some new champions were crowned and some champions were able to repeat and take home their new rings.
The Upper Madden League Raiders were able to pull off the three-peat, as they took out the undefeated Rams on a ‘last play of the game’ miracle with three seconds left to take the lead. The Rams would then play the Bears in their playoff game, winning handedly and forcing the ‘Mercy Rule’ to be implemented in the first half, cruising to a 34-6 win.
The Raiders had a much tougher time making it to the championship game, as they found themselves down late against the Seahawks before scoring the go-ahead touchdown. The Seahawks drove all the way down the field and ran out of time at the five yard line to secure the win for the Raiders.
While neither team made the playoffs, the Patriots defeated the Jaguars 28-20. The Cowboys got their first win of the season, with a 7-0 win over the Giants. The Chiefs defeated the Lions by a 7-0 score as well.
In the Lower Madden League, the Dolphins had their playoff game against the 49ers, and came away with the mercy rule victory, with a dominating 33-0 win. The Panthers and the Steelers had a back and forth game, with the Panthers coming out on top in the playoff game, and advancing to the championship against the Dolphins. The Dolphins came away with the win and the championship against the Panthers, with a 14-7 score.
In the Shula Division, the Titans would come away with the late score, and the win, as they put away the Jets, with a final score of 19-12. The Ravens and the Commanders also had a tight contest, with the Ravens coming out on top with the 39-33 win on the last drive of the game. The Chargers handled the Bengals in their game, with a 25-12 final score. The Bills snuck by the Colts with a 12-12 win.
In the Lombardi Division, the Falcons and the Buccaneers had a shootout, which ended in one of the highest scoring games all year as the Falcons came out on top, 50-44.
