Rawls joins Bryan County's 1,000-point club

Bryan County High School's Olonna Rawls is the latest Lady Redskin to reach the 1,000-point plateau. 

Rawls, a junior, scored 15 points during unbeaten Bryan County's 66-25 win over Portal on Saturday. Alation Eason chipped in 11 for the No. 9-ranked Lady Redskins, who are off to a 5-0 start for coach Mario Mincey.

Rawls will be honored at halftime of the boys' game Friday against visiting Toombs County.


In other girls' basketball notes, Richmond Hill improved to 5-1 with a 75-21 win over Windsor Forest. Kirra Perry and Jaxon Douglas paced the Lady Wildcats with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Wildcats compete in 7-on-7 football

On June 13, the Richmond Hill Wildcats football team competed at a 7-on-7 football camp hosted at Statesboro by Georgia Southern’s football program. Various other high school programs in the southeast Georgia region were in attendance.
