Hello, readers and welcome to another high torque wrenching, down and drenching, sphincter-squenching edition of the Pembroke Mafia Football League. We’re still nursing Editor Emeritus Jeff back to health on a strict diet of pickled eggs and potted meat and as soon as our eyes quit watering we’ll all get back to work.

Jeff’s been semi-retired and out of the public scene for a while so for those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him, picture the suaveness of young Sean Connery, the physique of Brad Pitt and the voice of Tony Bennett. He’s not that at all but it’s a nice picture.

• Mississippi Southern @ Georgia Southern: A Thursday night Southern Showdown in Statesboro. Mike Brown is our only Mississippi Southern picker but we like him anyhow.

 • Fresno State @ Colorado State: I, Chief Freddy, and Dr “Mean Gene the Love Machine” Wallace select Colorado St. 

• Bama @ Mizo: BJ is the only Mizo picker. Rest of us held our noses and picked the Tide. 

• Michigan @ USC: BJ, Mike C, and Jeff select USC. Rest of us ride with the Wolverines. 

• UGA @ Auburn: BJ Clark the indefatigable War Eagle is the only Auburn picker and swears it’s going to be the upset of the year.

• Oklahoma @ Texas: Noah, Alex, Mike B, pick Oklahoma. I’m still amazed that we’re going into Week 7, Texas is unranked and Oklahoma is in the top 10. 

• Air Force @ UNLV: Noah, Mike B, Jeff and Ben roll the dice on UNLV.

 • Indiana @ Oregon: Jeffro is our only Hoosier picker. Fun fact the word Hoosier is over 150 years old and no one really knows what it means or its origin, kind of like our favorite editor. 

• Nebraska @ Maryland: Rev Lawrence, Jeff, and Dr Gene select Maryland ugly helmets and all.

 • Virginia Tech @ Georgia Tech: Ted is the only Va Tech pick. Georgia Tech is running like a rocket sled on rails, ranked 13 and undefeated. Miami is the only other 5-0 team in the ACC and both have a peachy schedule through late November.
