The Bryan County Bassmasters Fishing Club held its sixth annual kids fishing tournament Saturday, Aug. 25 at J.F. Gregory Park.

Joey Celeste, president of Bassmasters, said 186 kids showed up to see what the morning’s catch might bring. Bait, trophies, and cash and door prizes were provided for the children, ranging in ages from 1 to 15-years-old, with hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill.

"It was really good this year," Smith said.

Tournament winners age one to three (out of 29 total children signed up for that age group) were Amaya Grimes in first place, Lauren Page in second, and Colton Gunter in third.

Winners age four to seven (out of 58) were Evan Page in first, Charlie Tuttle, and Hanna Jenkins. Page caught the biggest fish of the day, weighing in at almost four pounds.

Winners age eight to 11 (out of 61) were Johnathan Stewart in first, Storm Williams in second, and Elijah Crispell in third.

Winners age 12 to 15 (out of 38) were Austin Schneider in first, Howard Roe in second, and Kevin Schwartz in third.
