It was closer than the seven seniors on the Richond HIll baseball team wanted, but they put enough hits together in the bottom of the 6th inning to win at home Tuedsday against Glynn Academy, 8-6.
After taking a 4-1 lead after one inning on Senior Night, the Wildcats let the scrappy Terrors from Glynn Academy hang around all night long.
It almost came back to bite them when Glynn Academy scored two runs in the 6th to take a 6-5 lead. They couldn't hold on though, as the Wildcats used two hits, two walks, a sacrifice bunt and a couple of errors to go ahead for good.
Peyton Carter lost the save but evened his record at 1-1 with the win. Jonathan Godley pitched well for the Terrors by only giving up four earned runs. Richmond Hill stays undefeated in 2A-AAAA while Glynn Academy drops to 0-4.
The Wildcats next play undefeated Ware Co. on Friday night for the outright lead region lead.
