Richmond Hill High School will play Warner Robins on Saturday, Nov. 17  in the first round of the state Class AAAAA football playoffs.

The Wildcats (8-2, 5-2) are the No. 3 seed from Region 3-AAAAA after a tiebreaker due to a three-way tie for second between RHHS, Glynn Academy and Effingham County. The Demons (8-2, 6-1) are the No. 2 seed from Region 2-AAAAA.

“We’re probably facing the best No. 2 seed in the state, and the only reason they’re a No. 2 seed is because the No. 1 seed in their region is the No. 1 team in the state,” said RHHS coach Lyman Guy, referring to unbeaten Northside-Warner Robins.

The Demons are currently ranked No. 9 in Class AAAAA in both the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Associated Press polls.

Warner Robins fell 35-28 to rival Northside-WR on Nov. 2. The Demons’ only other loss was a 29-24 setback at the hands of Peach Countyon Sept. 14. Peach County (9-1) is a AAA power currently ranked No. 3 in that classification.

The Richmond Hill Gridiron Association has already chartered buses for the game and “one is already full,” Guy said. The cost is $27 round trip. Tickets for the game are $10.
