Senior Wildcat Alex Hill gets leverage on an opponent during the Rebel Invitational.

The Richmond Hill wrestling team finished third at the Rebel Invitational over the weekend at Effingham County.

Ninth-grader Will Evans (120 pounds) and senior Alex Hill (220) were the champions of their respective weight classes in the tourney, which took place Friday and Saturday. Junior Colin Crawford (145) and sophomores Taylor Wilson (182) and Drew Renshaw (195) were runners-up in their divisions.

“This is a very tough tournament and we competed very well,” RHHS head coach Robert Parker said. “For the most part, this was the first time the majority of the team had been to this tournament. The success of the team is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”

Results from RHHS’s match Tuesday at Brantley County were unavailable at press time.

RHHS is at Calvary at 5 tonight, then hosts the St. Nick Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
