Tough night for local teams

Friday night was tough on local high school basketball teams. All four local squads lost.

In Pembroke, Vidalia's boys blew open a close game to knock off Bryan County High School 78-46. Bryan County sophomore Jeremy McClendon led all scorers with 20 points.

In the girls' contest, Vidalia won 62-44. Bryan County senior Diamond Mcgirt had 24 points.

In Springfield, Richmond Hill's girls fell 45-32 to Effingham County High School while the boys lost 72-42.

Bryan County plays host to Claxton on Saturday while Richmond Hill is at Vidalia.
