Running seminars, more at GGC

Georgia Game Changers Running Company and Leigh White present a nutrition seminar for athletes at 6:30 p. m. Thursday.

White is a physical therapist and local triathlete. She will be joined by other local runners who will provide gluten-free tips and recipes. Food and drink samples will be offered.

In addition, Stephen Pfifer, winner of the 2012 Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half-Marathon and a training technician with Newton Runing Company, will be available to discuss racing strategies from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday during the store’s Pre-Savannah Bridge Run Instore Expo. Newton will conduct two natural running clinics.

Times of the clinics will be posted on the Georgia Game Changers facebook page.

Georgia Game Changers is also sponsoring its first Decorate an Old Running Shoe contest through Dec. 8. Shoes will be displayed in the store windows for the Fourth Annual Richmond Hll Holiday Stroll on Dec. 8. Call Sandra Elliott at 445-2168 for more information.

Basketball,

cheerleading

Registration is under way for Upward Basketball and Cheerleading at First Baptist Church Richmond Hill.

Basketball is for boys and girls in kindergarten through 12th grade. Cheerleading is for girls in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Early registration costs $85 for basketball and $75 for cheerleading. It ends Dec. 3. After Dec. 3, the cost is $100 for basketball and $90 for cheerleading. Registration ends Dec. 8.

All players must attend an evaluation and orientation session. Sessions are from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 3, Dec. 4 and Dec. 8. Practices begin Jan. 7. Games begin Feb. 2.
