Roundup: Tennis Redskins split with Liberty, fall to Bacon Co.

The Bryan County High School tennis team dropped a doubleheader Thursday to Bacon County.
The girls fell 2-3, with wins coming from No. 1 singles player Vivian Moultrie, who beat Sarah Gonzalez 6-3, 6-0; and No. 2 singles player Keyvona Moultrie, who swept Esy Diaz 6-0, 6-0.
Opal Warren fell 0-6, 1-6 at No. 3 singles; Melissa Campbell and Alana Walker lost 3-6, 1-6 at No. 1 doubles and Cassidy Williams and Lane Christian fell 1-6, 2-6 at No. 2 doubles.
The boys lost 1-4. No. 3 singles player Noah Twiggs picked up the team’s only win.
No. 1 singles player Jordan Crosby fell 0-6, 0-6; Jakob Romberg fell 0-6, 0-6 in No. 2 singles and the doubles teams of Cody Natvik and Hunter Hagan and John Walker and Channon Mingledorff lost in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles respectively.
Walker and Mingledorff fell 1-6, 1-6; Natvik and Hagan lost 0-6, 0-6.
The losses followed a split with Liberty County High School on Tuesday at LCHS.
In the boys’ matches, the No. 2 doubles combo of Cody Croft and Twiggs picked up a win by forfeit, the only match the boys won.
Crosby fell 7-9 to Adams in No. 1 singles; Mingledorff lost 1-8 to Deindre Harris in No.2 singles and Walker fell 6-8 to Darrius Adams in No. 3 singles. In No. 1 doubles, Natvik and Hagan lost 0-8 to Parris Willis and Nate Cochran.
The Lady Redskins won 4-1.
Vivian Moultrie bested Alicia Pate 8-0 in No. 1 singles; Keyvona Moultrie topped Loretta Johnson 8-0 in No. 2 singles; Alexis Sapp fell 2-8 to Ayana Brown in No. 3 singles; Campbell and Walker won 8-0 over Raha Davis and Cam Van Horn in No. 1 doubles; and Williams and Christian won 8-4 over Brooklyn Scott and Samira Williams in No. 2 doubles.
