Ten teams made up of approximately 120 players and coaches will chase the dream of a state title beginning Saturday when the Georgia Little League 10-11year-old State Championship tournament gets under way in Richmond Hill.

They’re not the only ones with dreams. Adults hosting the tournament are pretty fired up as well.

"We are very excited to have the tournament here," said Kay Green, the tournament chairwoman and head of the South Bryan County Recreation Department. "We have put together a strong committee, we have a lot of volunteers working hard and we have a whole lot of community support. Now we’re looking forward to showing everybody in the great state of Georgia what a great community Richmond Hill is."

Sites for the championship tournaments in various age groups rotate among the state’s 10 districts, and Richmond Hill, which has competed in Little League for three years as Coastal Little League, is hosting a state title tournament for the first time.
