Wildcats, Lady Wildcats fall on road in state basketball tourney

Richmond Hill High School’s season ended Saturday night in Jonesboro, as the two-time state champ Cardinals knocked off the Wildcats 56-49 in the first round of the boys’ state Class AAAAAA basketball tournament.

 Trey Deloach and Sheldon Lewis led RHHS with 13 points each while Sam James added 10 for the Wildcats, who finish the season 20-7.

The Richmond Hill girls also lost their first-round state tournament game, falling 54-20 to Lovejoy. The host Wildcats jumped out to a 17-0 lead and never looked back.

Richmond Hill’s season ends at 12-16.
