Richmond Hill girls split in Statesboro softball tourney

The Richmond Hill High School Lady Wildcats (6-2) split in pool play action Friday during day one of theStatesboro High School’s Battlein the ‘Boro softball tournament.

Richmond Hillknocked off Swainsboro 11-1 in their first game. Amber Riviera was 2-for-3 with a single and double; Amber Nixon doubled and drove in a run; Sophia Lorimer had a single and two RBIs; Ciera Patrick was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs; Liz Wallace had a triple and Morgan Hunter was 2-for-4. Hunter got the win for the Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Wildcats fell 7-3 to Wayne Countyin their second game.

Lorimer singled and drove in a run; Taylor Rine singled in two runs and Cristy Davenport had a hit for the Lady Wildcats, who continue play today.
