Richmond Hill High School swept its Fishy XC Invite on Thursday at the Fish Hatchery.
The Wildcats were paced by junior Corey Jones, who finished second overall in the boys’ race with a time of 17 minutes and 4.5 seconds.
Richmond Hill freshman Dax Jacobsen finished fifth overall by completing the 3.1 mile course in 17:33.3.
Other top finishers for the Wildcats were senior Tanner Hicks, who turned in a time of 18:09.1 to place 12th, and senior Clint Martin, who finished 20th with a time of 18:32. Sophomore Connor Shortridge rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats with a time of 18:41.2.
Benedictine’s Sam Geha won the boys’ race with a time of 16:59.5.
In addition, Richmond Hill’s JROTC Raiders finished fourth. Junior Kyle Kremer was the top JROTC finisher with a time of 18:25.8. Junior Tommy Carlson and sophomore Glenn Carlson finished 24th and 25th, respectively, with times of 18:37.7 and 18:38.8. Shane Hoeksema, a junior, ran the course in 18:59.5 and junior Zack Jones finished it in 19:01.4 to place 35th and 38th respectively for JRTOC.
In the girls’ competition, Richmond Hill junior standout Amanda Elliott took first with a time of 20:56.7. Other top performers for the girls were freshman Rachel Hammesfahr, who had a time of 21:46.6 to place eighth, and senior Shanee Mckee, who had a time of 21:47.8 to finish ninth.
Freshman Katie Joe Barnes was 17th with a time of 22:51.3 and Alycia Ussery was 22nd with a time of 23:12.8. Chloe Giorgianni ran the course in 23:27.l7 to place 24th. In all, 16 boys teams and 11 girls teams competed.
