Richmond Hill Middle Scool made its fourth consecutive championship Wednesday, falling 42-12 to a big, talented Screven County Middle School squad. The Wildcats went 28-4 over that 4-year span and coach Randell Boone said he was pleased with the effort his team put forth this year. After only returning one starter from last year’s championship team, Boone had several player’s step up and take on big roles. Michael Brooks and Aaron Bedgood were the offensive team leader’s this year. Bedgood, a seventh grader, stepped in and played multiple offensive positions, and played them all very well, Boone said. Brooks was the leading rusher and scorer for the Wildcats offense. Defensively, the Wildcats had multiple player’s step up and play well. The defense gave up less than seven points a game. The school’s seventh-grade team went undefeated this year as well. With returning player’s such as Bedgood, Jamarie Green, DeAndre Tresvant, Michael Cuthchin and Ruii Hernandez, Coach Boone said he is looking forward to next year’s team.
