RHHS softball program raising money to fight breast cancer

Richmond Hill High School softball players are selling breast cancer awareness t-shirts to raise money for a local breast cancer awareness organization.
T-shirts are $15 and ¾ sleeve shirts are $22. All proceeds will go towards breast cancer awareness, coach Angie Hummeldorf said.
“This is a fundraiser we take part in every year to teach these young ladies to be part of something bigger than themselves,” she said. C”ome out and support breast cancer awareness and your very own Lady Wildcats as they take on South Effingham.”
Those who wear this year’s Wildcat breast cancer awareness shirt to the game on Sept. 11 will get free admission.  For more information call Coach Hummeldorf at 459-5151.

All-Region picks for spring sports announced
RHHS Wildcats

Richmond Hill placed several players on their respective All-Region teams in Region 2-AAAAAA for tennis and soccer after all four teams made it to their respective state tournaments this spring.

In girls’ soccer, first-team selections were Grace Kiser, Ruthie Riley, Carly Vargas and Ellie Filamonczuk. Honorable mention went to Bella Martinez. Arianna Page and Lexi Merry.

For boys’ soccer, Joseph Petrino, Agboade Sobowale, Roman Alvarez, Trever Blitchington and Cristian Marquez made first team.

For girls’ tennis, Hannah Yontz, Megan Bausch and Stephanie Harter all made the second team at singles, as did the doubles team of Bailey Lopata and Caren Bausch.

For the boys, Jackson Martin was first team singles and Alec Shermer was second team singles. Zach Sewell received honorable mention.
