Here is how things shape up for Richmond Hill and Bryan County.

The Bryan County boys’ team starts things off with a 5:30 p.m. game today in the Region 2-AA tournament. The Redskins are the No. 6 seed and they face Bacon County, the No. 7 seed. Bryan County beat Bacon County in both of their meetings this year, including a 56-52 win Friday night.

The Redskins are 7-18 overall, 3-11 in the region. If they win, they face Jeff Davis, the No. 3 seed, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The winner of that game takes on No. 2 seed Vidalia at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the semifinals. The region championship is at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, with the consolation at 3:30 p.m. All games are at Toombs County.

In all cases, the top four teams in each region advance to the state tournament, with the first- and second-place finishers hosting in the first round while the third- and fourth-place finishers go on the road.

The Bryan County girls’ team is the No. 3 seed in Region 2-AA and received a bye to the quarterfinals. They play at 4 p.m. Wednesday against the winner of Bacon County and Toombs County. A Redskin win Wednesday puts them in the semifinals against No. 2 seed Metter at 4 p.m. Friday.

The girls’ team is 21-4 overall, 10-4 in the region. All games are at Toombs County. The championship is 5 p.m. Saturday, with the consolation tipping off at 2 p.m.

In Region 2-AAAAAA, both Richmond Hill teams are assured of a state tournament berth. The five-team region uses a play-in game and the remaining four teams battle it out for seeding. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams finished third in the regular season and both will face Bradwell on Wednesday at Brunswick.

The girls, 15-9 overall and 3-5 in the region, play at 3:30 p.m. The boys, 14-10 and 4-4, follow at 5 p.m.

Wednesday’s other games feature Brunswick against Glynn Academy on the girls’ side and Brunswick against Effingham County in the boys’ bracket. The finals and consolation games on Friday determine seeding for the state tournament.
