Bryan County High School's baseball Redskins took to the field Tuesday hoping to gain their first win of the season against visiting nonregion opponent Southeast Bulloch.
Due to a few solid hits and some outstanding defensive plays from SEB, and a few defensive errors on the Redskins' part, the Yellow Jackets managed to come out on top with a 7-1 win.
Mikey Smith was the starting pitcher, and for the first two innings retired all six batters that appeared at the plate. Beginning in the third inning, the SEB batters were able to get a hold of the ball, scoring two runs due to a few infield errors.
Both teams were scoreless in the fourth inning. In the fifth inning SEB scored two more times, while Brandon Albright stole home on a wild pitch, after hitting a double and advancing to third on a base hit, for Bryan County's only run of the game.
In the sixth inning Tyler Kirby took the mound, and SEB continued their hot hitting.
In the last two innings of the game, SEB scored three more more times thanks to well placed hits and held Bryan County to only one run.
Senior Dylan McCoy went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Redskins, who fell to 0-14.
