Bryan County football saw seven players receive all-region recognition in Region 2-AA.

Destin Cramer at linebacker and Traivaun Sanders at defensive end were voted to the first team on defense, while Gage Hagan at quarterback and Terron Dixon at running back were voted to the second team on offense.

Charlie Flint, Collin Brown and Jerron Dixon received honorable mention.

Although the Redskins finished 0-9, Coach Mario Mincey has said he is leaning toward returning next season after taking the job this season on an interim basis. Mincey noted that the team did not have a spring practice session and the players had to learn new offensive and defensive schemes quickly heading into the season.

“I met with several of the returning players and they think we can be better next year,” Mincey told the Bryan County News earlier this year. “We knew this year would be rough with all of the changes that took place.”

Richmond Hill Coach Matt LeZotte said Region 2-AAAAAA coaches will meet next week to vote on their post-season honors.
