Prep track and field athletes honored

Both Bryan County High School and Richmond Hill High School recently honored their top track and field athletes.

BCHS

High Point: Tiffany Howard and Ryan Horton; Coach’s Award: Marissa Whitaker and Damion Dixon; Most Improved: Sierra Newman and Justin Jones; Rookie of the Year: Brianna Smith and Desmon Byrd.

Also recognized for setting school records were a number of student-athletes at BCHS:

Howard – 800, 1,600, 3,200, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay; Sierra Newman – long Jump, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay; Trent Minis, Raekwon Love, Ryan Horton, Stephon Fennell – 4x400; Desmon Byrd – 200; Jabari Fields – 3,200; Trent Minis and Ryan Horton – pole vault

RHHS

All State: Nikki Shields, 400; All Region: Shields, Daryl Dunham, 400; Amanda Elliiot, 3,200; Marcus Morris, Deon Davis, Tradd Stephens, Darryl Dunham, 4x400.

Team awards
