Lady Wildcats battle to 1-1 tie with Burns, NC

Casey Qua scored on a penalty kick with less than six minutes left to play and Richmond Hill High School (8-2-2) tied North Carolina High School power Burns (10-1-1) 1-1 on Thursday at Richmond Hill High School. Keeper Caroline Smith had 16 saves.

Here's what coach Steve Kollman had to say about the game.

"(It was a) wonderful, fast paced game that saw both teams put in danger a number of times."

Burns scored midway through the first half. Richmond Hill countered with six minutes left to play when Jasmine Marquez's shot hit the far post and bounced out. LisaDelete-Merge UpBausum was tackled by the Burns goalkeeper after running down the ricochet, giving the Lady Wildcats the penalty kick Qua got past the keeper.
