Lady Redskins win key region contest

The Bryan County girls' basketball team improved to 15-2 and ran its Region 3A-A mark to 5-0 with a 65-49 win over Calvary Day on Friday in Pembroke.
Olivia Melvin had 28 points for the No. 5 Lady Redskins, whose defense smothered Calvary (15-3, 4-1). Kim Williams and Satashala Beasley dominated on the boards for the Lady Redskins.
In the boys contest, Calvary beat the winless Redskins 69-26.
Bryan County is at Portal tonight and faces Claxton on Tuesday in Pembroke.
