Home openers equal eye openers for local hoops

It was a mixed bag Tuesday night for Richmond Hill High School and Bryan County High School, as far as home openers go. The Lady Wildcats (2-1) knocked off Liberty County 46-39 behind 15 points from Keeara Jackson and 10 from Hannah Riley. The boys, meanwhile, fell 68-42 to the Panthers. Daniel Wilder was the only Wildcat in double figures. In Pembroke, the Redskins took on McIntosh County Academy in 2-AA acation. The boys’ fell 82-37 to drop to 1-1 on the season while the girls lost 65-39 to fall to 1-2. Both RHHS and BCHS were on the road Friday night, with BCHS at Bacon County and RHHS at Groves. The Redskins play host to Portal tonight, with the doubleheader tipping off at 6 p.m.
