Georgia Game Changers Running Company will celebrate its fifth anniversary on July 22 with a full day of events.

It starts with the 5th Annual Red Hot Chili Pepper 5k at 7:30 a.m. at store’s original location, next to Jalapeno’s Mexican Grill. The post-race festivities will continue at the Game Changers Health and Fitness Complex beginning at 9 am.

Ron and Sandra Elliott, owners of both the running store and the Game Changers Complex, are excited to share their celebration with the local community by hosting a health and fitness fair on the property from 9 a.m. to noon.

"It is hard to believe that Game Changers has been in Richmond Hill for five years," said Ron Elliott. "I have a feeling it will be an emotional day for Sandra and me, as we have seen our little dream grow into something very special."

Elliott added, "The growth and the impact on the local community has expanded in a variety of ways, from our in-store run and race walking clinics to our ever-expanding outreach activities to include our growing Friday Night Fun Runs and local events in both J.F. Gregory Park and at the new Sterling Creek Park."

This year's 5th Annual Red Hot Chili Pepper 5k will benefit Family Promise of Bryan County.

"The fact that the funds raised from this year's race will be used to impact local families will make the day even more special," said Sandra Elliott. "Even the post-race health and fitness fair, which will include both vendor booths from the store's products as well as local small businesses, will benefit the Family Promise organization.”

Sponsors of this year's race have been generous. Aftershokz, which is a company that makes Bluetooth, bone-conducting headphones that are available in the store, as well as Topo Athletic, which will be donating pairs of shoes to the top runners, have come in as our top sponsors of the 5th Annual Red Hot Chili Pepper.

Local sponsors, who have paid to have a booth at the post-race festivities, include 9-Round Fitness, Victory Haven, Thirty-One, Mary Kay, LuLaRoe, and Thrive by Le-vel, will also be a part of the fund-raising effort for Family Promise, as their booth fees go directly to the organization.

"We look forward to having current and new customers at the store on the day of our fifth anniversary," said Ron Elliott. "We hope to be able to make a special announcement of what is coming to the property in the future.”

For more information about the day, please contact Sandra Elliott at (912) 445-2163 or at sandra@georgiagamechangers.com. There is still room for sponsors and a few more spots for local health or fitness vendors.
