Former Richmond Hill quarterbacks Nick Fitzgerald and Dominique Allen were named offensive players of the week in their respective conferences for their performances Saturday.

Fitzgerald, the Mississippi State junior, led the Bulldogs to a 37-7 win over No. 11 LSU in a nationally televised game. It was his third SEC offensive player of the week award.

He was 15-for-23 for 180 yards passing with two touchdowns, and ran for another 88 yards and two scores. Fitzgerald leads the SEC with 12 total touchdowns, ranking him third in the country among quarterbacks.

The Bulldogs, now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference, play at Georgia at 7 p.m. Saturday on ESPN. Mississippi State climbed to No. 17 in the AP poll with the win, while LSU fell to No. 25.

Allen, meanwhile, led his own Bulldogs at The Citadel to a 31-25 win at East Tennessee State University, garnering Southern Conference offensive player of the week honors.

Allen had 156 yards of total offense, including 104 through the air, passing for one TD and running for another. The Citadel is now ranked No. 10 in the FCS poll and stand at 3-0 overall, 1-0 in the SoCon.

The Bulldogs have a bye this weekend and play at 3 p.m. Sept. 30 at Samford.
