Former RHHS players to take on Calvary Day in alumni game

Some are firefighters, others are in the military. Some are successful businessmen. A few are high school football coaches.
Many are college students.
All but a few have one thing in common - each played football at Richmond Hill High School and each is playing in a full contact alumni game on Friday at Garden City Stadium.
Against a similar team of alumni from Calvary Day. For real.
"We're playing to win this thing. We're still competitive," said Ryan Glazer, one of three Glazers on the roster.
Ryan is a former tight end and defensive end who, along with 2000 graduate Joasis Smoker and Matt McDowell, pulled the team together. It now consists of some 40 former Wildcats, including quite a few who went on to play college football.
The team began to form in January after players heard about a similar game involving alumni from Benedictine and Savannah Christian. For a fee, a company from California called Gridiron Alumni provides uniforms and handles much of the logistics.
The alumni Wildcats have been practicing regularly since and have hopes that the first alumni game isn't the last.
"We hope to make it a traditional annual game," said Glazer, who is now offensive coordinator at Liberty County High School.
