Bryan County track sectional qualifiers

The Bryan County track and field teams are sending five individual qualifiers and two relay teams to sectionals after their top-four performances at the Region 2-AA meet at Southeast Bulloch this week.

Ginger Roop qualified in both the girls’ 800- and 3,200-meter runs, finishing third in each at 2:45.42 and 14:35.31, respectively.

Quran George will participate in three events at sectionals, to be held April 30 at Fitzgerald High School. He finished third in the long jump at 22’6.5” and was on both the 4x100 and 4x400 teams.

The 4x100 team finished third at 43.32. Joining George on the team are DeVontae Anderson, Dominque Mock, Yadvern Eason, Traivaun Sanders and Jacob Hallex.

George, Anderson, Hallex, Sanders, Darrin Gusman and Cody Cameron make up the 4x400 team, which also took third with a time of 3:39.12.

Malik Bostick finished second in the boys’ discus at 128’10.5” while Alayna Williams was third in the girls’ shot put with a toss of nearly 31 feet. Lianna Shuman finished fourth in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles at 18.85.
