Each Bryan County team opened its Region 2-AA tournament with a win Tuesday at Long County High School in Ludowici.

The Lady Redskins downed Bacon County 48-30 in their opening game in the girls’ tournament to move on to the quarterfinals against St. Vincent’s on Wednesday. The Redskins topped Groves 72-68 in the boys’ tournament. That earned them a quarterfinal matchup against Bacon County on Wednesday. Neither quarterfinal game’s result was available at press time.

In action last week, both BCHS teams lost at home Friday to Vidalia in their regular-season finales.
The Lady Redskins lost 74-56. BCHS was tied with Vidalia at 15-all after the first quarter Friday, but was outscored 25-7 in the second and 24-8 in the third as the visitors pulled away.

The Redskins fell 73-40.
