Bryan County Middle School celebrated Homecoming recently and coach Mario Mincey, who also works as the school’s athletic directory, decided to bring a little high school feel to the event.
“As athletic director, I felt like we needed to get our students and staff more involved,” he said in an email. “I approached our athletic department with some ideas and they did a great job of planning. The week included a Pie the Coach contest, Super Hero Day, Tacky Day, pep rally and Homecoming dance.
“We also had a Homecoming court, which our cheerleading coaches did a great job of organizing. Some of our local board members served as honorary captains at the homecoming football game.
“We also had our first annual Cow Bingo fundraiser ... All of the proceeds went to help fund our athletic programs with some equipment they may need. It was great to see our teachers and students enjoy all of the planned activities. Our administrators were very supportive and helped make the week a success.”
