Lady Redskins to play Crawford County
Bryan County High School (19-11) will travel to Crawford County on Wednesday to take on the Eagles in the first round of the Class AA state playoffs in Roberta after the Lady Redskins pulled out a 6-5 win over Bacon County on Tuesday in the Region 2-AA tournament to claim the third seed.
Pitcher Brooke Barfield went the distance for the Lady Redskins, scattering four hits over seven innings while striking out four and walking four. Only two of Bacon County’s five runs were earned.
Brooklynn Williams paced BCHS at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Logan Harrell homered, Layton Harrell was 2-for-4 and scored two runs, Taylor Roop added a hit and an RBI and Kaylin Leggette drove in a run as well for BCHS, which also got two hits from Kaylee Perks in the game, according to the teams’ Gamechanger page.

RHHS at Effingham
Richmond Hill High School (19-7, 7-2 in Region 3-AAAAA) meets Effingham County today in Springfield for the Region 3-AAAAA championship. Tuesday, the Lady Rebels (19-7, 9-1 region) beat the Lady Wildcats 10-0. Both teams will host a state Class AAAAA playoff game next week.
