The All-Region basketball teams have been announced as the state tournament gets underway this weekend.

The Richmond Hill boys’ team saw five players receive post-season honors. Sam James was named to the first team in Region 2-AAAAAA. Justin Jeffery and Sheldon Lewis both made the second team, while Kasey Green and D.J. Lewis received honorable mention.

The Wildcats host Lee County at 6 p.m. Saturday.

For the Richmond Hill girls’ team, Javionna McDonald and Jaxson Douglas were named to the first team while Hannah Yontz made the second team and Danika Boyd was honorable mention.

The girls play at 7 p.m. today at Valdosta.

For the Bryan County girls, who play at 7 p.m. today at Fitzgerald, Olonna Rawls was named first team, Jay Black made the second team and Arielle Moody was honorable mention in Region 2-AA.

The Bryan County boys saw Jaylin James make the second team and Gage Hagan was honorable mention.
