Learn to run
Richmond Hill YMCA offering class on running

The YMCA of Richmond Hill is offering a free "Learn to Run" class to all members. The class will be held Fridays from 8:30-9:15 a.m. beginning Jan. 7 and continuing through March 25.

Running is one of the best ways to get in shape and to improve your current level of fitness-it burns fat, builds muscle, and increases your metabolism. This class is designed for beginning runners who are looking to learn proper running form, get motivated, set realistic goals, build strength and endurance, avoid sore muscles and injury, and improve their overall cardiovascular health.

The class is free, but it does require registration (free) and commitment. The YMCA of Coastal Georgia is offering 50 percent off the joiner's fee.

The class will be taught by Shannon GaNun, an ACE-certified personal trainer and an AFAA-certified group fitness instructor, who has been training people for more than 20 years.
