By Charlie Moon, Lowcountryradio.

Low Country Radio is excited to broadcast its 3rd season of Richmond Hill Basketball beginning Jan. 5 at home versus Statesboro.

Thanks to Henderson Law Firm for jumping on as our first sponsor. To accommodate the remainder of the season and playoffs, we are in need of several more. If your local business is interested, contact Freddy Howell (912-674-5481) or me (803-622-3808). You can also email us at lowcountryradio@gmail.com. Both the men and women’s squads are unblemished, 8-0 (2-0) and ranked in the AAAAAA Top 5. The ladies, coached by Sara Jones, have 5 single-digit wins. The men, coached by William Henderson, have crushed the competition by an average of 25.5 points. Their lone single-digit win came in the opener at Camden County, 71-62 in overtime.

The broadcast team will be almost identical as last season. I will be on play-by-play again and Brock Vaignuer on color. The new addition will be a first for LCR and Richmond Hill. Jesus Jimenez, a RHHS Senior, will join the team on stats and production.

Jesus is a successful member of RHHS’s high-quality broadcasting program led by Patrick Means and Stephanie Whiten. Means and Whiten both transitioned from full-time Savannah-area TV broadcasting careers to public education a few years ago, to begin the program at RHHS.

LCR will broadcast all remaining conference games, except the Jan. 18 game at Effingham County. Then, LCR will continue with all conference tournament and state playoff games. Below is the schedule: Tuesday 1/5 Home Statesboro Friday 1/8 Away Bradwell Tuesday 1/12 Away Brunswick Friday 1/15 Home Effingham County Tuesday 1/19 Home Southeast Effingham Tuesday 1/26 Home Glynn Academy Friday 1/29 Away Statesboro Tuesday 2/2 Home Bradwell Friday 2/5 Home Brunswick Tuesday 2/9 Away Effingham County (5:30) *Note: All broadcasts except the Effingham County game, are as follows: 5:45 - Lady Wildcat Tip-off Show 6:00 - Ladies’ Game 7:15 - Men’s Wildcat Tipoff Show 7:30 - Men’s Game *Men’s time are approximate, immediately following conclusion of Ladies’ games.
