Richmond Hill High School will play at Benedictine Tuesday after going 1-1 last week.
On Friday, the Wildcats faced the Dade Christian Warriors from Miami, and got an outstanding pitching performance from senior, Landon Walker, to get the win, 6-1.
Walker pitched 3 no-hit innings, striking out 4. The Cats used 5 other pitchers to finish the game.
Joey Succi and Bryson Helsel led the Cats at the plate. Succi went 2 for 3, with a double, and drove in 2 runs. Helsel went 2 for 2, scoring twice, and driving in a run. The Cats turned 2 double plays and drew 8 walks to contribute in the win.
Coach Hill’s squad loaded up on the bus early Saturday morning and made the 2.5 hour ride down to Jacksonville to play an 11 a.m. ballgame, against a Florida powerhouse.
The Cats faced a Trinity Christian Academy team that is loaded with talent and won 30 games last season. The current TCA roster has 8 current players committed to SEC schools, i.e. Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama, and Florida.
Chris Reali led the Conquerors going 2 for 3 with a homer, 2 RBI’s, and scoring 1 run. Brennan Bachtel Jr. got the win for the Conquerors, striking out 6 in 4 innings.
Tyler Price, Jax Pursley, and Bryce Smith were the only 3 Wildcats (5-3) to reach base, via a base on balls.
The Conquerors pitched a no-hitter and won 5-0.
