The Richmond Hill High School softball team begins Region 3-AAAAA play at 6 tonight by hosting South Effingham. The Lady Wildcats, who were 0-1 after their season-opening 13-3 loss at Bacon County on Aug. 12, were scheduled to play Metter in a non-region game Wednesday night. The result was not available at press time.

Following the region opener, RHHS has a busy weekend ahead.

The Lady Wildcats are scheduled to play four games in a tournament at Flowery Branch High School, against Norcross and Buford on Friday and against Dacula and Peachtree Ridge on Saturday.

Richmond Hill will play a non-region game at 5 p.m. Monday at Calvary Day before returning home to face 3-AAAAA foe Bradwell at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Lady Redskins off to torrid start

The Bryan County Lady Redskins will look to extend their winning streak to seven games tonight as they face Bacon County at 5:45 in Alma.

After opening the season with Region 2-AA wins over Jeff Davis and Long County, the Lady Redskins allowed just two runs in rolling to four wins over the weekend in the Tattnall County Tournament.

The Lady Redskins claimed a 6-0 win over New Hampstead and topped Bradwell 12-0 before defeating Liberty County
10-1 and Tattnall County 2-1.

The Lady Redskins have outscored their first six opponents by a combined score of 43-8.

Bacon County enters tonight’s game at 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Region 2-AA after routing McIntosh County Academy 19-0 on Tuesday.

Bryan County will play in the Houston County Tournament this weekend. The Lady Redskins will return to 2-AA action on Tuesday, hosting McIntosh County Academy at 4:30 p.m.
