PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Sports Network added to nose tackle Brent Russell’s list of honors for 2010 with his selection to its All-America second team defensive unit. Russell, a 6-foot-2, 287 pound, sophomore from Comer, Ga., was named a first team Associated Press All-American and Walter Camp Football Foundation All-American earlier this month. He is one of 20 finalists for the Buck Buchanan Award, an annual award honoring the top defensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Both the Southern Conference coaches and media association made Russell a first team All-SoCon choice for his efforts this season. He finished the 2010 season with 18.5 tackles for loss which placed him in a tie for 38th in the NCAA national rankings. His eight sacks this year rank 50th nationally.
