Golf tourney meets goal of $12k

The Second Annual Richmond Hill Gridiron Association Golf Tournament at Crosswinds Golf Club was a booming success, according to organizers. Their goal of beating last year’s proceeds came through as the event raised $12,000 for the RHHS Wildcat football team.

Gridiron Booster President Ricky Bodaford said the proceeds will now allow them to purchase new uniforms for the RHHS football team, which he said are in dire need of replacement. The booster club has committed to pay $10,750 toward the uniforms with the school’s athletic fund to pick up the balance. He said 200 jerseys, two per player, will be purchased at $85 per jersey.

"I’m absolutely delighted at the turnout and the support we got from this community," Bodaford said. "A good time was had by all. We appreciate all our sponsors and golfers that made this event a success. To meet our goal in the face of today’s tough economic conditions just goes to show the level of generosity of our supporters."
