Girls track team taks RHHS Relays

The girls’ track team at Richmond Hill High School won the Richmond Hill Relays on Friday, outscoring nine other schools. The RHHS boys’ finished second behind Bradwell Institute.

The Lady Wildcats got winning performances from its A and B teams in the 4 by 400 meter "2x2x400"relay and the 4x800 team of Kyra Byrd, Kayla Gholar, Daryn Petitt and Alexis Sena.

Richmond Hill’s distance medly team of Hannah Bryant, Byrd, Jennifer Urso and Rebekah Wilder finished first; as did the girls 5x320 meter shuttle hurdle steeplechase A team.

The boys’ 4x800 meter relay team of Jacob Hedgepath, Matthew Jones, Lucas Van Ginkel and Cooper Williams brought home a first place finish, as did the distance medly relay team of Jacob Collins, Jalen Murray, Jordan Perkins and Ian Watson.

The Wildcats’ A and B teams finished first and second, respectively, in the boys’ 5x400 meter shuttle hurdle steeplechase.

Girls standings: Richmond Hill 81, Bradwell Institute 59, West Laurens 52, Savannah Arts 45, New Hampstead 43, Savannah Christian 38, South Effingham 28, St. Vincent’s 28, Liberty County 20, Islands High 17.

Boys results: Bradwell Institute 85, Richmond Hill 84, West Laurens 72, New Hampstead 47, South Effingham 46, Liberty County 28, Islands High 23, Savannah CHristian 19, Savannah Arts 10.
