Bryan County High School’s Lady Redskins are rolling so far this season, thanks in part to the contributions of key freshmen.

The team is off to an 11-1 overall start, and is 5-1 in Region 2-AA. Freshmen teammates Bekkah Johnson, a center fielder and catcher, and pitcher and outfielder McKenzie Mobley are leading the region in batting average, hitting .462 and .448, respectively.

Another freshman, Hayden Joyner, is leading the league in strikeouts, according to Max-Preps. Joyner has 48 strikeouts so far this season to go with a 1.95 ERA over 42 innings pitched. The Lady Redskins’ next home game is Saturday, Sept. 14 against visiting Jeff Davis.
