Richmond Hill’s Alaina Lucas was named Region 2-AAAAAA pitcher of the year by the regions’ softball coaches.

In all, five Wildcats were named to the  All-Region 2-AAAAAA softball team, including infielders Katie Synder, Cheznie Schuman, Brianna Harrison and outfielder Kyra Byrd.

Synder, Schuman and Byrd were first-team picks. Harrison was a second-team selection for the Wildcats, who finished 15-13 and advanced to the second round of the state Class AAAAAA tournament before falling to Dalton.
