More than 400 children participated in the Exchange Club of Richmond Hill 2015 Fishing Derby on Saturday at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery on Highway 144.

Winners were crowned in four contests across two age divisions. Ayden Grey won the Total Weight contest in the 6-younger age group with a total catch of 6.6 pounds. Evan Sallette caught 10.15 pounds of fish to win the contest in the 7-older group.

In the Heaviest Fish contests, Bella Frost had one catch of 1.45 pounds to win in the 6-younger division, while Evan Sallette was a winner there as well with a single catch of 3.55 pounds.

Each winner received a trophy and a certificate for a WaterWays fishing and family outing.

Door prizes of eight rod-and-reel sets and three additional family fishing certificates were donated by the Exchange Club and given away following the derby.
