Crusaders win holiday tourney
sports crusaders 12-22
The Crusaders, above, are a 10-and-under baseball team from North Bryan which recently hosted its 1st Annual Holiday Classic at Hendrix Park on Dec. 11. The Crusaders placed first in the tournament by beating the Renegades from Effingham County 11-0 in the title contest behind a perfect game from Jarrett Brown. Also competing in the day-long tournament in cold and wet conditions were The Lookouts and Timber Dawgs. The Crusaders are coached by Scooter Thomson and Cliff White. In addition to Brown, the Crusaders are Caleb Johns, Dalton Lynn, Cameron Crosby, Landon Thomson, Colin Brown, Chandler Lynn, David Friedberg, Joey White and Hunter Warnell. Coaches thanked Hendrix Park staffers "Pratt, Stella and Debbie for (their) help," along with "Jack and Branden" for officiating. The Crusaders are looking for players ages 9-10 who live in Bryan County and are interested in playing travel ball in 2011. For more information call Coach White at (912) 489-3786 or Coach Thomas at (912) 665-0434. (Provided)
