Challenger British Soccer Camp comes to Hendrix Park

Last week the Challenger British Soccer Camps hosted their first of two sessions at Hendrix Park. Twenty-five kids sharpened the foot work and skills during the week of fun.

According to their website Challenger Sports is the #1 soccer camp provider in the United States and Canada. This year alone over 750 British soccer coaches are mentoring more than 150,000 boys and girls at some 2,000 camps and clinics.

The camp focuses on teaching key techniques and technical components of socceer.

"The camp is great," said Hendrix Park Soccer Coordinator Bryan Woods. "They not only focus on teaching the soccer skills within a framework of character development based on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship, they also remind the kids that it's fun."

The second session of Challenger British Soccer Camp will be held at Hendrix Park the week of July 6-10. There are sessions available for children age 3 to 16. Camp times and lengths vary.
