Bryan County tennis teams unbeaten
Richmond Hill High's early season has been plagued by weather

The BCHS tennis teams, under Head Coach Tommy Gibbs, have gotten off to a great start. With four competitions each under their belt, they each boast three victories.

The RHHS tennis team schedule has been hampered with rain delays, but the teams have a big tournament in Valdosta this coming weekend.

The first match of the season for BCHS came on Feb. 13 versus Claxton. The boys competition was halted due to rain during the last singles match, so this rivalry will be continued at the next meeting of the two schools. The girls shut out Claxton 5-0. Singles victories were scored by Melinda Lape, Caitlin Crowe and Jenna Howell. Doubles victories were scored by David Cook and Scooter Anderson, Cody Gunter and Kenneth Hagan, Ashley Barfield and Kari Groover, and Ashleigh Strickland and Lindsay Anderson.

Feb. 15 versus Southeast Bulloch saw the boys win 3-2 and the girls lose 2-3. Singles victories were scored by Josh Stanfield and Crowe.

Doubles victories were scored by Cook and Anderson, Gunter and Derek Tucker, and Barfield and Howell.

Feb. 20 versus Tattnall County saw the boys win 4-1 and the girls win 5-0. Singles victories were scored by Stanfield, Trey Boatright, Lape, Crowe, and Howell.

Doubles victories were scored by Cook and Anderson, Gunter and Hagan, Barfield and Groover, and Strickland and Anderson.

Feb. 21 versus Calvary saw the boys win 4-1 and the girls win 3-1. Singles victories were scored by Stanfield, Boatright, and Howell.

Doubles victories were scored by Cook and Anderson, Gunter and Tucker, Barfield and Groover, and Strickland and Anderson.
