Bryan baseball team goes far

The Bryan County 9- and 10-year-old Little League baseball team competed for the first time in the Little League State Championship tournament in Decatur.
They attend the opening ceremonies July 17, and then played four games from July 17-21. Their record was 1-3, winning against Peachtree City Allstars and playing Murphey Candler, Habersham American and Athens Little League Allstar teams.
The players, coaches, parents and families enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to playing in the tournament again next year. The 11- and 12-year-old Bryan County Little League team, based in Richmond Hill, competed in the Little League State Championship from July 24-28 in Columbus, though results were not available by presstime.
The recreation association will have a fall baseball league for ages 9-12, which will consist of Sunday double-headers, as well as Sunday pick-up games for ages 13-15.
Additionally, there will be a girls fall softball league for ages 8-12.
