Area team wins Blackshear tourney

The Merchants of Long County 8 & Under baseball team participated in the first annual Randy Bass Memorial Baseball Tournament held in Blackshear on July 24. The team, which is made up of boys from Bryan, Liberty, Long and Wayne counties, including Chase Brown, Chase Warren, Jayce Warren and Luke Wells from Richmond Hill, played five games in the one-day tournament to win the championship, beating the Bacon Bombers 20-10.  The Merchants are sponsored by All Custom Gutters Co., C.A. Sittle Inc., Coastal Pawn and Hinesvile Fence LLC.

New football stadium, facilities give Richmond Hill more to cheer for

When the Wildcats opened the season Monday night against Glynn County, they were making their debut in a new state-of-the-art stadium that rivals any facility in the state other than perhaps Buford’s new $62 million playpen.
