The community is invited to participate in an “all-comers” track meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the new Richmond Hill High School track.

Open to anyone, the meet will have a youth division for grades 2-8, high-school division for grades nine through 12 and an adult division for ages 19 and older.

The scheduled events are the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes; 800, 1,600 and 3,200 runs; 4x100 and 4x400 relays; steeplechase (high school only); long jump and shot put.

Registration is $5 per event. Register online at richmondhillathleticproject.com.

“One reason we petitioned the school board for this track is to get the community running,” said Colette Hammesfahr with the Richmond Hill Athletic Project. “Not everyone can throw a baseball, catch a football or swing a tennis racket — but everyone can walk and run.”

Anyone who participated in the all-comers track meet in May can bring a friend to the June meet and have their entry fee waived for a race. If they bring two friends, the entry fee will be waived for two races, as long as those friends did not participate in the May meet.

Another all-comers track meet is set for July 28 at RHHS.
