Will your name be found?
pastor corner

I recently attended a high school graduation ceremony and patiently waited for one of my grandchildren’s name to be called. When his name was called out, our family responded with clapping to show our support. The same thing happened with hundreds of other students. It would have been disappointing for us but especially for the individual if he or she’s name would have been missing and not called out.

The Bible doesn’t answer every question about eternity, the second coming of Jesus, and heaven but it makes it clear that in order to experience eternal life we must have our names written in what is called the book of life. I believe Jesus is referring to this book when He made this statement found in Luke 10:20, “... rejoice that your names are written in heaven”. The Bible also makes it clear that if a person’s name is not found in this book, then we will fall under the judgement of God.

Revelation 20:15 says, “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire”.

So, will your name be found in the book of life, and if not, the good news is, it can be by choosing to become a follower of Jesus Christ?
